Police have tragically discovered a body during a search for 44-year-old Lucy Patterson, who went missing from the Holystone area on Monday morning. Extensive enquiries were launched to find her.
Location of Discovery and Family Notified
The body was found earlier today in Rising Sun Country Park. Formal identification is pending, but police believe it to be Lucy. Her next of kin have been informed.
No Foul Play Suspected, Coroner’s Report Pending
Northumbria Police say there’s no suspicion of third-party involvement. A full report will be prepared for the coroner. “This is a very sad conclusion and not the outcome we wanted to share,” the force said.
Support and Thanks to Rescue Teams
Police extended their thanks to the public for sharing appeals and to volunteer search teams from Northumberland National Park and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Teams. They asked for privacy for Lucy’s family during this difficult time.
