What Happened?

Emergency services were called at 1:50am to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a bus near the junction with Merton Road, causing widespread disruption and a major road closure between Tooting High Street and Christchurch Road.

Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and TfL officials responded promptly.

 

A  collision investigation has since commenced, with officers remaining on scene as of 2:05am, according to updated TfL diversion notices.

Casualty and Investigation Update
A Met Police source said:

“Police were called at approximately 01:50hrs on Thursday, 26 June, to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a bus on High Street, Colliers Wood. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service. The cyclist has been taken to hospital. Road closures are in place while our enquiries continue.”

The cyclist’s condition has not yet been disclosed. No arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. The area has been sealed off to allow for specialist officers to carry out their investigation.
