TROUBLE AHEAD Crash Chaos in Whitley Snarls Bus Route

A car crash in South Reading has caused major disruption this Friday afternoon. The smash happened on Northumberland Avenue in Whitley when a car slammed into a bus shelter and flipped onto its side.

Luckily, early reports say no one was hurt. Firefighters from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene to make the vehicle safe.

Bus Diversions Causing Headaches

Reading Buses have swiftly diverted route No. 5 away from the crash site. The buses are now taking a longer route via Newcastle Road, Canterbury Road, and Buckland Road before getting back on Northumberland Avenue.

 

 

Expect Delays – Avoid the Area

Thames Valley Police warn the car could stay on its side for a while, meaning traffic will be snarled up. Drivers are urged to steer clear of Northumberland Avenue unless absolutely necessary.

 

Congestion is building fast as emergency crews work to clear the wreck.
