A freak funfair ride failure at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park, south London, left several people hurt on Saturday night. A man and a woman, both in their 40s, initially suffered life-threatening injuries but have since made a promising recovery, say police.
Chaos as Emergency Services Rush In
The thrilling day turned into chaos when the ride suddenly malfunctioned, causing panic among fairgoers. Eyewitnesses described frantic scenes as emergency crews scrambled to help the injured. Two others — a man in his 50s and an 11-year-old girl — have since been released from hospital after treatment.

The Metropolitan Police teamed up with the Health and Safety Executive to crack down on the cause of the malfunction. Lambeth Council assured the public, stating, “The safety and well-being of our visitors remain our top priority. We thank emergency services for their swift response.”
