One angry customer moaned, “Lloyds banking app is failing to log me in.” Another said, “Online and Mobile banking down, card payments were being declined, but at least payments are going through now.” A third added, “Banking App failing to login ‘App launch failed.’”
Lloyds Responds With DIY Fixes
On social media, Lloyds’ official Twitter account tried to calm nerves. “Hi! I’m Bev. I understand how frustrating it is when you are unable to access your accounts. Please try these steps: Clear the app’s cache and browsing history. Fully close the app, then reopen. Try logging in using both mobile data and Wi-Fi to see which works better.”

The chaos was first flagged by Downdetector—a popular website that tracks outages for services like banks, social media, and internet providers. It monitors sudden spikes in user reports and highlights where things are going wrong.
According to their system, when the number of complaints is much higher than usual, Downdetector sounds the alarm. Users can report problems themselves and check if their area is affected.
