A London double-decker bus ploughed into a row of shops in Westminster, narrowly missing a busy Pret A Manger and leaving one person injured.

Bus Smashes Into Dental Studio

The number 3 bus, heading to Crystal Palace, mounted the pavement and crashed into the SW1 Dental Studio on Great Peter Street at 1.40pm on Tuesday.

Shocking images show the bus embedded in the shopfront, with a black taxi also spotted on the pavement near the wreckage.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Firefighters and police were quick to respond. Transport for London’s Rosie Trew said:

“We’re working with bus operator Transport UK to investigate the cause of a collision earlier today on Great Peter Street. Our thoughts are with the one person who is believed to have been injured and with anyone else impacted by this distressing incident. We have support available for anyone affected.”

It remains unclear whether the injured individual was a passenger on the bus or inside the dental studio during the crash.

Road Reopened After Incident

The road has since been cleared, but the Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further comment.

Recent Bus Crashes Raise Concerns

Only last month, a number 24 bus crashed into bollards near Victoria Station, raising fresh safety questions over London’s bus network.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that 17 people, including pedestrians and passengers from previous incidents, were injured. Two were treated at the scene and 15 were hospitalised, including a bus driver.”
