Major Emergency Response at Dover Port
An 18-year-old woman was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries following a dramatic emergency response at the Port of Dover last night.
Jubilee Way flyover, overlooking the Port of Dover’s Eastern Docks, was sealed off as police, paramedics, and four fire engines swarmed the scene. A height vehicle and a specialist rescue unit were also deployed.
Witness Hears Tragic Cause
One bystander overheard staff saying the incident involved someone falling from the White Cliffs. The coastguard joined emergency crews, with the entire area shut down shortly before 11pm.
Police Confirm Serious Incident
“We were called at 10.17pm on Tuesday to concerns for the welfare of a person in the Port of Dover,” a police spokesperson told KentOnline. “Officers attended alongside other emergency services. An 18-year-old woman was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries. She remains in a stable but serious condition.”
Fire Service Details Response
A fire service spokesperson said: “Four fire engines, a height vehicle, and the KFRS Line Rescue Unit attended and worked with other emergency services at the scene.”
