Man, 30, Charged with Attempted Murder After Woman Stabbed Outside Busy Primary School

A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a woman who was stabbed near a primary school in Luton yesterday.

Barze Faesal, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested after a woman in her 20s was stabbed multiple times on Dunstable Road at around 8:30am on Tuesday.

She suffered serious injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.

Faesal appeared at Luton Magistrates’ Court today and has been remanded in custody. He is next due at Luton Crown Court on 24 June.

Police and forensic officers were seen speaking by a tent covering the scene of the stabbing yesterday morning.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries after she was stabbed outside a primary school. Here is a look at Dunstable Road on a map.

Bedfordshire police stated: “Officers will continue with high-visibility patrols in the area for community engagement and reassurance in the wake of the incident.

Officers kept guard outside a tent covering the scene of the stabbing, while a forensic team was also on-site.

All the children were reported to be safe within the school, which the force did not name. Officers will remain in the area to provide reassurance.

Women working in A Family Food Store, just down the road from the scene of the attack, said they had heard a woman had been stabbed and taken to hospital but were unaware of her condition.

A school spokesperson said: “Bedfordshire Police is investigating the stabbing of a woman near the school on Dunstable Road. Following the incident, the school was on lockdown for approximately one hour purely as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff.

“Parents have been advised of the incident, and emotional support is available to all children and staff who may require it.”

Another look at the forensic officers on Dunstable Road. The stabbing took place at 8:30 AM on Tuesday during the school drop-off.

All children were put into lockdown for their own safety. Fortunately, they were all safe within the school.

The force released a statement saying: “Bedfordshire Police is investigating the stabbing of a woman near a school on Dunstable Road, Luton, shortly after 8:30 AM this morning. The victim has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. One man has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
