Man Charged After Shocking Richmond Jewellers Robbery Ends in Death
A terrifying robbery at a Richmond jewellery shop has ended in tragedy. A staff member died the day after being assaulted during the raid.
Violent Raid at Kew Road Jewellers
On Saturday, May 25, just before 3pm, two unarmed men stormed Kettles of Watches on Kew Road. They attacked Oliver White, the shop worker on duty, before fleeing with £2 million worth of luxury watches.
Oliver was initially treated at the scene, but his condition worsened. Police confirmed his death the following day, Sunday, May 26. Surrey Police are investigating but say the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Suspect Charged and Court Dates Set
Junior Kunu, 29, from Mitcham, was charged with robbery on June 5. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on June 6 and was remanded in custody. Kunu is scheduled to face Kingston Crown Court on July 4.
Police Appeal for Information
Detectives are calling on the public to help with the investigation. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or via X, quoting reference CAD4555/25May. Anonymous tips can also be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
