Man Charged Over Attempted Mosque Arson in Kettering – UKNIP

A 43-year-old British-born man faces serious charges after allegedly trying to torch a mosque in Kettering. Arif Ali Rafiq, from Northampton, was charged with attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

The Incident

The attempted arson took place on the afternoon of Sunday, October 5. Police say Rafiq tried to set fire to the front door of the mosque located in Headlands.

Legal Proceedings

Rafiq is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning, October 7, to face the charges against him.

Separate From Peacehaven Case

Authorities have confirmed this case is unrelated to a separate incident in Peacehaven.
