The tragic death of 30-year-old Sadiq Al-lami, known affectionately as ‘Pitbull’ among friends, has left the community in shock and mourning. Sadiq was killed following an altercation in what has been described as a ‘road rage row’ at traffic lights in Didsbury, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 1:40 am. An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody while the investigation unfolds.

Sadiq, originally from Iraq, had been living in Manchester since childhood. He was just days away from his 31st birthday when the tragic incident occurred. Friends recall that the altercation arose from what seemed to be a “petty row” with another driver.

The 30-year-old was a well-known figure around Manchester, with his resemblance to the rapper ‘Pitbull’ earning him the affectionate nickname. He worked at the popular TikTok-famous Manchester chicken shop, Miami Crispy, and was also involved in private security.
Described by friends as the “life and soul of the party,” Sadiq was known for his happiness and carefree attitude. His infectious laughter, energy, and outgoing personality left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
His family, still in Iraq, called for justice and the severest punishment for those responsible. Mustafa Al Failey, a cousin of Sadiq’s living in Baghdad, expressed his grief and hope for justice, saying, “My cousin Sadiq was a lovely man; he was loved by everyone.
Friends and acquaintances are planning to gather over the weekend to celebrate what would have been Sadiq’s 31st birthday, reflecting on his vibrant and caring nature.
Kay Henny, a close friend of Sadiq, reminisced about their friendship, saying, “If someone messaged me and asked me ‘who lived their life happy and free,’ I would honestly put Sadiq’s name at the top of the list.” She praised his resilience and positive attitude, stating that his laughter, energy, and personality could never be replaced.

Fawad Ahmed, who had known Sadiq since school, remembered him as a helpful and well-loved individual. He expressed shock and disbelief over the tragedy, emphasizing that Sadiq’s life should not have been cut short over a “petty” dispute.
Denika Brooks, another friend, recounted how Sadiq was a fixture at Lola’s in Deansgate, where they would keep his table ready because they knew he would brighten the atmosphere.

Chanel Paris and Nic Louise, in their heartfelt tributes, echoed the sentiment that Sadiq was a caring and loving person who brought joy to those around him.
Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson, heading the investigation, believes the incident was isolated and urged witnesses to come forward. Specially trained officers are providing support to Sadiq’s grieving family, who have requested privacy during this difficult time.

The loss of Sadiq Al-lami has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, and the community is left grappling with the senseless tragedy that took the life of a vibrant and caring individual.
