A 27-year-old man has admitted trying to kidnap a 17-year-old girl in Swindon. Abdulmawal Ibrahim Adam, from Stanier Street, pleaded guilty at Swindon Crown Court today (14/10) and will be sentenced on December 12. He remains in custody.
Chilling Attack on Teen Walking Home
The terrifying incident happened around 9.30pm on March 6. Adam, a Sudanese national, approached the teen as she walked home from work near Princes Street and Fleming Way. Despite her clear attempts to ignore him and flag down passing cars, Adam followed her closely.
As she crossed the road at the traffic lights, Adam suddenly lunged, grabbing and dragging her back across the street. Luckily, bus passengers waiting at the lights stepped in, scaring him off.
Suspect Strikes Again – Public Steps In Twice
Not done, Adam then pursued another woman down Princes Street. She managed to escape before he turned his attention to a female witness who had seen the attempted kidnap. Once again, members of the public rushed to intervene, preventing any further harm.
This brazen attacker lurked on public streets, but quick-thinking citizens helped stop him. Authorities remain vigilant as they prepare for sentencing.
