A murder investigation is underway following a fatal stabbing in the New Parks area of Leicester. The incident occurred earlier today, Wednesday 22 May, on Glazebrook Road.
At approximately 13:15 emergency services responded to a call reporting the stabbing. Upon arrival, they found an 18-year-old man with serious injuries. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
Arrests Made:
- Two 17-year-old males have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
- A 52-year-old male has also been taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.
- Additionally, two other individuals—a 36-year-old male and a 38-year-old woman—have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
Appeal for Information:
Detective Inspector David Greenhalgh, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) major crime team, urged anyone with information to come forward urgently. He emphasised that the incident occurred during daylight hours in a residential area, making it likely that witnesses or individuals with relevant footage could assist the investigation.
“If you have doorbell, CCTV, or dash-cam footage related to this incident, please contact the police,” said DI Greenhalgh. “Even seemingly insignificant details could be crucial.”
Witnesses who observed the incident are also encouraged to get in touch with authorities.
