Police are hunting witnesses after a teenage girl was threatened by a man in Burgess Hill on Thursday morning, 16 October.
The girl was walking to school at around 8.10am when a stranger approached her in an alley off Maple Drive, near Packham Way. The man made threats before she managed to escape.
Suspect Description and Police Response
The attacker is described as a slim white male, mid-20s, with blue eyes and stubble. He was wearing a black leather jacket over a white hoodie and blue jeans.
Detective Chief Inspector Pauline Lane said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim on her way to school, which we are taking very seriously.”
She added, “We are urging anyone who saw something suspicious or has CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile footage to get in touch. Officers are increasing patrols in the area to reassure the community.”
