Sussex Police have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a fatal smash on the A27 near Wilmington late on 30 September.
Deadly Collision at Drusillas Roundabout
Emergency crews rushed to the scene just before 11pm following reports of a serious crash between Drusillas Roundabout and Polegate. An 18-year-old man driving a red Renault Clio collided with another car driven by a 26-year-old Eastbourne local.
Despite desperate efforts from paramedics and officers, the 18-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and are receiving specialist support. The other driver suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.
Police Hunting Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
Road closures were enforced overnight as collision experts combed the site. Sussex Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is piecing together what happened.
Officers urge anyone who saw the vehicles before the crash or has dash-cam footage from the area around 11pm to come forward. “Even small details could be crucial,” they said.
Information can be sent by email or by calling 101, quoting Operation Medford.
Police thank those who have already provided info and continue to appeal for more witnesses to help crack the case.
