A 19-year-old has been charged with murder following a shocking stabbing in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.
Grim Discovery on Valley Road
Police were called to a house on Valley Road at around 8:45pm on Wednesday, 22 October, after reports of a stabbing. Armed officers arrested teenager Logan Procter on suspicion of murder at the scene.
The victim, 57-year-old Christopher Owen, was found with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the property. Tragically, a Jack Russell dog was also discovered stabbed to death.
Charged and Remanded in Custody
Derbyshire Police confirmed that on Friday, 24 October, Logan Procter, of Valley Road, was charged with murder and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
Procter was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday, 25 October.
Investigation Underway – Police Seek More Witnesses
Detectives continue house-to-house inquiries and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Officers praised those who have already helped but stress the need for further tips.
