Two men are facing court over an alleged arson attack at a mosque in Peacehaven earlier this month. Emergency services raced to Phyllis Avenue on the evening of Saturday, 4 October, after reports of a fire outside the Peacehaven Mosque.
Blaze Quickly Controlled, No Injuries
The fire was swiftly brought under control, with thankfully no one injured. Police launched an immediate investigation into the suspicious blaze.
Arson Charges Filed
Ricky Ryder, 38, from Seaford, and Jack Slowey, 34, from Peacehaven, have been charged with arson with intent to endanger life. Both remain in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 October.
Third Man Released on Bail
A 42-year-old Peacehaven man was also arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life but has now been released on conditional bail as inquiries continue.
