Woman Held Under Mental Health Act After Scissors Scare in Toxteth – UKNIP

Drama on Boaler Street: A 44-year-old woman from Liverpool was detained after lunging at another woman with scissors. The terrifying incident unfolded at around 1.50pm on Saturday, 4 October.

Scissors Threat Sparks Police Action

The victim escaped unscathed, fleeing on foot after throwing her bag at the attacker. The suspect then snatched an item from the bag before officers arrived.

Earlier the same afternoon, a group of women reported being threatened with scissors nearby, escalating concerns across the area.

Police Step In – Suspect Arrested and Hospitalised

Merseyside Police confirmed a 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery following the incidents.

“We can confirm that a woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act following an incident in Liverpool,” police stated.

She has since been bailed and is receiving treatment in hospital under the Mental Health Act.
