A man in his 20s has died in hospital following a stabbing in Hither Green this afternoon.
Stabbing Shakes Hither Green
The attack happened around 3.25pm today (October 28) on Hither Green Lane near Benin Street. Emergency crews found the victim with stab wounds and rushed him to hospital. Despite their efforts, he died shortly after arriving.
Police Launch Urgent Hunt
Superintendent Nick Jowett of the Met’s Royal Borough of Greenwich Policing team said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this distressing time. He added detectives are working fast to track down those responsible for this senseless attack. “Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence across the area. Please speak to them if you have any concerns.”

- No arrests have been made yet.
- Hither Green Lane and Benin Street remain closed as police maintain the crime scene.
- Next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
