A 50-year-old Man Who Died Last Week In Sheffield Has Been Identified, As His Family Pays Tribute To Him

At 9.21 p.m. on June 16, emergency services were called to reports of a man in distress at a fishing pond off Herries Road in Sheffield’s Shirecliffe neighbourhood.
Kevin Hodkinson, a father of three from Sheffield, was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Kevin’s family has shared a photograph of him as well as the following tribute to him.
“Kevin was a much loved son, father, grandfather, brother, partner, uncle, and friend,” they said.
Detectives are working quickly to investigate Kevin’s death and have charged a man with murder.
Kieran Hayes, 33, of Oxspring Bank Road in Sheffield, has been charged with murder and remanded in custody. On Monday, he will appear in Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
Anyone with information that can assist officers with their investigation is asked to call 101 and reference incident number 1014 of June 16.
