High-Speed Chase After Clapham Shop Robbery

At 5pm on Monday, 24 November, police launched a high-speed pursuit after reports of an armed robbery at a shop on Clapham High Street. No injuries were reported during the heist.

Suspect Arrested After Ditching Car

The chase ended just 11 minutes later on Bellefields Road, SW9, where the driver – a man in his 40s – bailed from the vehicle as police closed in. Officers quickly detained him, with paramedics now assessing his condition.

Bellefields Road remains closed as an investigation ramps up.

Police Vehicle Crashes on Way to the Scene

Meanwhile, trouble piled up when another police unit speeding to support the chase collided with a member of the public’s car at the Brixton Road and Ingleton Street junction.

Paramedics are currently treating injuries sustained by both police officers and civilians.

Brixton Road has been shut down while authorities investigate the collision.
