Detectives have charged a man following an attempted burglary in Swanley, marking a significant development in the case. On Tuesday, 2 May 2024, a resident of Dale Road reported encountering two men attempting to break into his home. The suspects fled the scene, prompting a thorough police investigation.

The investigation involved CCTV analysis and forensic examinations, leading to the arrest of 40-year-old Christopher Rye from Dudley, West Midlands, in Welling, Greater London on Wednesday, 24 July. Rye has been charged with attempted burglary and failing to provide a sample for a drug test.
