Vile Predator Convicted and Jailed for Attempted Rape in King’s Cross Station – UKNIP

Amer Mohamed, 31, has been found guilty of attempted rape at Inner London Crown Court following a British Transport Police (BTP) investigation, earning him a jail sentence for his heinous actions.

On 23 July 2022, at approximately 5am Mohamed approached a woman, whom he had never met before, as she slept at King’s Cross station. Startled awake, the victim discovered Mohamed exposing himself and attempting to rape her against her will.

Courageously, the victim tried to resist and stop the attack, but Mohamed overpowered her, relentlessly continuing the assault for half an hour until her friend woke up and intervened, thwarting the further escalation of the crime.

After the traumatic incident, the victim immediately reported the attempted rape to BTP officers at the station. She bravely identified Mohamed, leading to his arrest at the scene, and he was subsequently taken into police custody for questioning.

During his police interview, Mohamed shockingly claimed that having sex with someone while they were asleep was acceptable, arguing, “they aren’t dead.” When presented with the CCTV evidence that captured the entire incident, he attempted to deflect the seriousness of his actions, asserting that he was merely trying to help the victim sleep better.

Detective Constable Rachel Parfitt, leading the investigation, strongly condemned Mohamed’s actions, stating, “Amer Mohamed is a vile predator who deliberately targeted an unconscious woman and subjected her to a truly abhorrent attack in the belief she would be powerless to stop him.”

DC Parfitt continued, “It is beyond contemptible that he has not only shown a complete lack of remorse for his actions but actively tried to defend himself, claiming on record that it’s fine to have sex with someone if they are asleep.”

The detective praised the victim for her bravery in coming forward and supporting the investigation despite being forced by Mohamed to relive her traumatic ordeal in court. Her courage played a crucial role in ensuring that the perpetrator faced justice and received an appropriate punishment for his reprehensible actions.

At the Inner London Crown Court, Mohamed was found guilty of attempted rape, and the court sentenced him to jail for his appalling crime.

DC Parfitt concluded, “We will work relentlessly to ensure sexual offenders like him are brought before the courts to face the full force of the law. Our commitment remains unwavering in our pursuit of justice for victims of sexual assault.”
