Firefighters have extinguished a garage fire in a residential area of Maidstone this afternoon, with emergency crews responding swiftly to the blaze.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 16:08 on Monday, 23 June, following reports of a fire at a garage on Springett Way. Three fire engines were deployed to the scene.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to bring the fire under control. The flames were extinguished by around 18:55.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries, and no nearby properties appear to have been affected.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and a full investigation will be carried out to determine how it started.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has not issued any warning about potential hazards, but residents are reminded to ensure garages and outbuildings are clear of flammable materials and safely maintained.
