A 16-year-old boy was arrested last night following a shocking machete attack at Merry Hill shopping centre in Dudley.

West Midlands Police swooped at around 5pm on Friday after a 17-year-old victim was slashed in the back during a violent clash between two teenage groups. The drama unfolded just after 3.30pm, with reports suggesting one gang chased another through the busy centre.
“We arrested a boy aged 16 on suspicion of wounding with intent,” said a force spokesperson. “The victim suffered a small cut to his back that required medical treatment.”
