Detectives are urgently seeking information from the public as they investigate the disappearance of 48-year-old Fiona Holm. Fiona was last seen alive on the evening of Tuesday, June 20, in Verdant Lane, Catford. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, announced that a man has been charged with Fiona’s murder, as well as the murder of Naomi Hunte.
Prior to the murder charges, Fiona was the subject of a missing person investigation in the hope of finding her alive. Detective Chief Inspector Blackburn expressed her condolences to the families and friends of Fiona and Naomi during this incredibly difficult time. The investigation team will continue to provide support to both families.
Fiona is a well-known and active member of the community in the Lewisham and Blackheath area. Detectives are particularly interested in gathering information about Fiona’s movements since June 20. They are appealing to anyone who had contact with Fiona before that date or possesses information that may be relevant to the investigation to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could help establish what happened to her.
The investigation into Fiona’s disappearance was transferred to the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command on July 11. Detective Chief Inspector Blackburn emphasized that due to ongoing legal proceedings, she is limited in the information she can provide about the investigation. However, searches are being conducted at various locations in the Catford/SE6 area, including an address and open land, in an effort to locate Fiona’s body. Residents in the area are urged to report anything out of the ordinary that they believe may be connected to the investigation.
A 65-year-old man, who was known to both Fiona and Naomi, has been charged with their murders. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance will take place at the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday, July 18.
Anyone who saw Fiona or has information concerning her disappearance is urged to contact the police by calling 101 or tweeting @MetCC, quoting reference number 22MIS023317.
