Police Appeal For Information After Crash on M4 – UKNIP

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following a tragic two-car collision on the M4 eastbound between junctions 22 (M49) and 21 (M48) yesterday morning. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 00.05 BST

Upon arrival, officers discovered that both vehicles had left the carriageway, resulting in several casualties. The National Police Air Service and Gwent Police provided support in handling the situation.

Regrettably, two women who were passengers in one of the vehicles were pronounced deceased at the scene. The families of the victims have been notified.

The three remaining occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Following hospital treatment, three men who were travelling in the other car have been arrested and are currently in police custody.
