On Monday, June 27, 2022, a man went to an address in Ruskin Grove that belonged to someone he knew.
He reportedly knocked on the door and, when it was answered, he entered uninvitedly.
Once inside, the man allegedly caused damage to a television before stealing some property and fleeing.
Officers responded to the scene, and after conducting searches for the suspect, a man was arrested and taken into custody.
He is accused of assaulting two officers during his arrest and while at the police station.
Harry Smith, of no fixed address, was later charged with burglary, criminal damage, assaulting an emergency worker on two counts, and violating a restraining order.
On Wednesday, June 29, the 28-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, July 7.
