Driver Cut Free After Four Lorry Pile Up on A34 near Winchester

Police closed both lanes of the Northbound carriageway following the four vehicle pile up this morning. Police shut the A34 northbound just after Winnall Roundabout following the crash, that happened just after about 9.45am. Fire Crews from Winchester, Romsey and Eastleigh attended the scene and cut free one driver from a lorry involved in the collision by removing the door using cutting equipment. Tailbacks are building on the M3 northbound and drivers are advised to check their routes before traveling. Traffic is very slow moving on the sound bound side of the A34 as drivers slow to watch the mass clean up operation Recovery specialists are now working with Highways England to remove the vehicles.
