PC James Gullis to Appear in Court Following Investigation
A serving Avon & Somerset Police officer has been charged with multiple serious offences related to indecent images of children, following an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
Police Constable James Gullis, 28, was arrested after intelligence was shared with local authorities, leading to an inquiry into his online activities.
Serious Charges Filed
According to court documents, Gullis, who is based in east Somerset, faces five serious charges, including:
- Three counts of making indecent images of children (Categories A, B, and C)
- Possession of prohibited images of children
- Possession of extreme pornographic material
The investigation, which began in December 2023, has shocked the local police force and wider community.
Officer Suspended Pending Legal Proceedings
As reported by The Sentinel Current, PC Gullis has been immediately suspended from duty while the case is ongoing.
An Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson confirmed:
“We take these allegations extremely seriously. As soon as the officer was identified as a suspect, swift action was taken, and he was suspended from duty. We are fully cooperating with the investigation.”
Court Appearance Scheduled
PC Gullis is scheduled to appear before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 19 to face the charges.
