A four-year-old boy has tragically died after being struck by a single-decker bus outside Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital in Margate, prompting a major police investigation and public appeal.

The incident occurred shortly after 4pm on Thursday, 7 August 2025, on Ramsgate Road, near the entrance to the hospital’s A&E department. The child, who had reportedly left the hospital on foot, was involved in a collision with a white single-deck bus.

He was immediately taken back into the hospital for emergency treatment but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. His next of kin have been informed.

Serious Collision Investigation Underway

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched a full investigation and is appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage that may help piece together the circumstances.

“We are urgently seeking information from any witnesses, including passengers on the bus who have not yet come forward,” said a police spokesperson.
