Family Pays Tribute to Musical Legend

In a heartfelt statement, his family said the star leaves behind a “legacy of extraordinarily moving music.” They urged fans to celebrate “the gift of song that he has left for the world.”

From Songwriter to Superstar

D’Angelo kicked off his career as a songwriter, collaborating with huge names like Lauryn Hill and The Roots. He skyrocketed to fame in the 1990s with his debut album Brown Sugar.

His hit single “Lady” reached number 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 1996, cementing his place in R&B history.

“The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life,” his family added.
