A routine traffic stop on the A2 in Gravesend turned up a major haul of suspected cannabis plants, leaving two men behind bars.

Suspicious Driving on the A2 Raises Alarm

On Tuesday 3 March 2026, officers on patrol spotted a white van weaving and overtaking dangerously just before the Northfleet exit. A quick check revealed the van had come all the way down from Nottingham to Medway and then abruptly turned back.

104 Baby Cannabis Plants Found Inside Van

Police pulled the van over and searched it thoroughly. They discovered black sacks filled with fertiliser, soil, and growing chemicals. Alongside these, a large industrial fan and cardboard boxes stuffed with 104 baby cannabis plants were seized.

Two Men Arrested on Drug Charges

The driver and passenger, both 30-year-old men from Northamptonshire, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and possession with intent to supply. They remain in custody as enquiries continue.
