Fire crews tackle blaze near Camphill

Isle of Wight fire and rescue service crews from Newport have been called to a pile of hay-bales alight on the Isle of Wight this afternoon.   It’s understood that a fire started in a field and spread to a pile of hay nearby. Two fire appliances from Newport have attended supported by water carrier from Freshwater and land-rover from Ryde. The blaze started just before 2pm. Due to Firefighters working swiftly to bring the fire under control a number of resources are have been released from the incident. An area around 40m x 15m has been affected and has been damaged by fire.
