Golf Buggy Catches Fire at Isle of Wight Festival, Black Smoke Billows Over Seaclose

A golf buggy caught fire at the Isle of Wight Festival this afternoon (Thursday), sending black smoke billowing into the skies above Seaclose.

The fire broke out near Pink Moon Camping, with the buggy becoming engulfed in flames. The festival’s own fire and rescue service, Emergency Medical & Fire Solutions, quickly arrived on the scene, with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.

Fortunately, no one is thought to have been injured, and the incident has been contained.

UPDATE @ 14:21 – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, live from the festival site, has confirmed that none of the festival site, staff, or attendees have been affected by the fire.

A spokesperson for the Festival said: “A fire broke out in an area of the festival. The fire was contained and quickly extinguished by the fire services and no one was injured.

The quick response from the festival’s emergency services ensured that the incident was managed efficiently, allowing the festival to continue with minimal disruption.
