Five arrested after businesses were burgled in Folkestone and Romney Marsh
A suspect is to appear in court charged with stealing more than £2,000 worth of goods from Thanet shops

Five people have been arrested by police investigating burglaries of businesses in the Folkestone and Romney Marsh areas.

Between Wednesday 27 March and Monday 8 April 2024, Kent Police was alerted to seven break-ins or attempted burglaries in Folkestone, Hythe, Dymchurch and St Mary’s Bay.

An investigation was launched and officers from Folkestone’s Local Policing Team identified a vehicle potentially linked to the incidents.

On the evening of Wednesday 10 April, that vehicle was spotted and stopped in Romney Marsh and five men were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Items thought to be stolen have been seized and the suspects, who are aged between 18 and 70, remain in custody while an investigation continues.
