Murder Investigation Launched Following Fatal Incident in Reading
Two Teenagers Plead Guilty to Knife Threat Robbery in Bromley

Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation after a disturbing incident unfolded overnight in Reading, leaving a man dead.

Authorities were alerted around 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, to a reported road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on Addington Road, near the junction of Craven Road. Shockingly, it is believed that the cyclist was not only struck by the vehicle but also assaulted by one of its occupants before the vehicle fled the scene.

Tragically, the cyclist, a man in his thirties, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. His next of kin has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers during this harrowing time.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones and emphasized the gravity of the situation. We have launched a murder investigation following this incident. Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who has died at this tragic time,” he stated.
