Murder Probe Continues after Three Year Old Boy Dies

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating the suspicious death of a three-year-old boy in Croydon. Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Adams Way, Croydon at 7.29pm on 1 February 2018 to reports of an unresponsive child. At the scene a three-year-old boy was in cardiac arrest. He was taken to a central London hospital by London Ambulance Service and was sadly pronounced dead on 4 February. The child has been formally identified as Alfie Lamb, of Adams Way, Croydon. The death is being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination commenced on 7 February at St Thomas’ Hospital. Officers await a final report. Three people were arrested on 28 February. They are as 23-year-old woman; an 18-year-old woman; and a 25-year-old man. Woman was charged on Sunday, 27 May, with ill-treatment of a child, contrary to section 1, Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and with perverting the course of justice. A Second woman was charged on 27 May with perverting the course of justice. A Man has been charged by postal requisition on 30 May with perverting the course of justice. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating, led by Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.
