A major section of the A13 Commercial Road in Stepney, East London, has been closed in both directions following a serious collision involving a car and a motorbike early this morning, Thursday, 11 April 2025.
The crash occurred at around 6:20am between Deancross Street and Sidney Street, prompting a full emergency response. London Fire Brigade, Met Police, and the London Ambulance Service were all called to the scene.

Road Closed for Collision Investigation
The road has since been completely taped off to allow collision investigation teams to carry out their work. The closure has led to significant traffic delays, with queues building in surrounding areas during the morning rush hour.

A diversion is in place for buses 15, 115, and 135, which are being rerouted while the scene remains under investigation.
A source for the Metropolitan Police confirmed:
“Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Commercial Road. The road remains closed while investigation work is carried out. Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.”

Injuries and Updates
Details of injuries have not yet been confirmed, though eyewitnesses report that paramedics were seen treating at least one person at the scene. The condition of those involved has not been disclosed.
The London Ambulance Service and Met Police are expected to provide further updates later today.
