Car Plunges from Multistorey Car Park at Luton Airport — One Seriously Injured

A serious incident unfolded at Luton Airport earlier today after a vehicle reportedly fell from the second floor of a multistorey car park, leaving one person seriously injured.

What Happened?

Emergency services were called just before 11am following reports of a single-vehicle crash within the airport’s car park facilities. Witnesses described a dramatic scene as police, ambulance, and fire crews responded in large numbers.

An eyewitness told Metro that police at the scene indicated the car had driven off the second floor, plunging to the ground below.

Photos shared on social media showed emergency tape and traffic diversions around both of the airport’s multi-storey parking facilities.


 One Person Seriously Injured

A Bedfordshire Police spokesperson said:

“Emergency services were called shortly before 11am to an incident involving a single vehicle at a multistorey car park at London Luton Airport. One person has been taken to hospital with injuries which are thought to be serious.”

A Luton Airport spokesperson added:

“Arriving vehicles are being redirected to the airport’s mid-stay car park until further notice. There is no disruption to wider airport operations.”


Travel Impact

Airport operations, including check-in and departures, are continuing without disruption, though passengers are advised to allow extra time for parking and drop-off.


Investigation Ongoing

Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the incident, and it is not yet known whether the crash was intentional or accidental. A full forensic investigation is underway, and updates will be provided as they become available.?
