Concerns are growing for the well-being of Khasha Smith, a 35-year-old mother who disappeared in November and has not been in touch with her family since. Detectives are now worried that she may have encountered serious harm, and her family’s distress has prompted them to reach out to the authorities for help.
Khasha Smith’s sudden disappearance has left her relatives deeply concerned. She was last heard from on November 4, 2023, and her lack of contact with loved ones is described as highly unusual by police. The situation has prompted an extensive search, with officers stationed outside Ms Smith’s residence in the Calder area of Edinburgh.
Detectives have been diligently reviewing CCTV footage and are actively investigating a possible sighting of Khasha in the Slateford area of the city between November 21 and 24, 2023. Their determination to locate her reflects the gravity of the situation, as fears mount that she may have faced harm or danger.
According to a source close to the investigation, “Detectives are extremely worried something sinister has happened to her. There are real fears for her.” The source also revealed that the complexity of Khasha’s family situation led to her being reported missing a couple of months after her last known contact with certain relatives.
Inspector Keith Forrester expressed concern over Khasha Smith’s prolonged absence from contact with her family, stating, “She normally maintains contact with her family, and it is unusual for her to not be in touch for this length of time.
Khasha Smith is described as a slim woman, standing at 5 feet tall, with blue eyes and long, blonde hair. She possesses tattoos, including one on her right wrist that reads ‘Forever’.
Neighbours in the community have also expressed their concern for Khasha. One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke of their unease and said, “She was married, but they have been separated. I don’t know what happened and why they separated; I was shocked when I heard it.”
As the search for Khasha continues, friends and well-wishers have taken to social media to share their worries and appeal for her return. Denise Smith implored, “Khasha Smith please get in touch with anyone of the family; we are all worried about you.”
Calley Smith shared a heartfelt photograph with the caption, “Favourite person in the world,” expressing their deep concern for Khasha’s safety.
Carrie Duke, a friend, expressed her concern, saying, “Khasha, we are really worried now and just need you home and to know you are ok. Please, if you can, get in touch with me.”
Another childhood friend, Kat Logan, expressed her concern for Khasha’s well-being, writing, “I wish I knew what to do, just want to know you’re OK mate. I’d be there for you in a heartbeat.”
Inspector Forrester urged anyone with information about Khasha Smith’s whereabouts to come forward, emphasizing the potential significance of even seemingly minor details. He said, “Please don’t think what you know is irrelevant; let us decide its significance; your information could be vital in helping us trace Khasha.
