Paul Mosley, along with Mick and Mairead Philpott, was sentenced to prison for his role in the manslaughter of their children in a house fire in Derby in 2012.
He was released in May after serving half of his 17-year sentence, but the Ministry of Justice confirmed he had been returned to prison for violating his parole terms.
Mosley, now 54, was accused of assisting his friends Mick and Mairead Philpott in starting a fire at their home.
Jade, 10, and her brothers John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five, died in the blaze on the morning of May 11, 2012.
Duwayne, 13, died three days later in the hospital.
The court heard that the fire was part of a plot to incriminate Philpott’s ex-girlfriend in order to gain custody of her children, the majority of whom were fathered by Philpott.
Protecting the public is our number one priority,” the Ministry of Justice said in a statement to BBC News. “When offenders breach the conditions of their release, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”
No information about how Mosley violated his parole has been made public.
Mairead Philpott was released on bail in 2020, but Mick Philpott remains incarcerated.
