The incident unfolded on Wednesday, March 6, prompting a major police operation led by Merseyside Police. Owen claimed his vehicle malfunctioned, accelerating uncontrollably with no brakes. The Jaguar became wedged between two police cars as officers desperately tried to bring it to a halt.

Following the dramatic chase, Owen was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing a public nuisance. Merseyside Police confirmed the arrest, with ongoing investigation support from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
