Paedophile Targeting Girls as Young as 11 Sentenced to Over 11 Years
Mohammed Sahinur was snared by Hertfordshire police in June 2022 after a major operation to crack down on predators exploiting vulnerable children on social media.
Horrific Abuse Uncovered
Sahinur had been preying on girls aged just 11 since 2021. He coerced them into sending explicit photos and then threatened to expose them if they refused.
Initially arrested for sexual communication with a child, police seized all his electronic devices. Subsequent investigations uncovered more victims and gruesome crimes, leading to 15 charges including:
- Sexual communication with a child
- Eight counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- Four counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act
- Sexual assault of a child under 13
- Rape of a child under 13
Justice Served at St Albans Crown Court
Sahinur was remanded in custody and found guilty at St Albans Crown Court during his trial from late January to early February 2023.
On 3 November, he returned to court for sentencing. The judge handed down a hefty prison term of 11 years and 6 months.
Police Issue Stark Warning
Detective Sergeant Jim Miller of the Child Online Safeguarding Team said: “Not only did Sahinur groom vulnerable young girls online, but he also met one victim in person to abuse her physically.
“He threatened the girls with exposing their images to family or sharing them further to keep them under his control. This vile behaviour has seriously harmed their mental wellbeing.”
“We will continue hunting predators like Sahinur and urge anyone affected by similar abuse to come forward. Specially trained officers are ready to support you.”
