Tragic End to Burnley Mum’s Disappearance

Katie Kenyon, 33, last seen climbing into a Ford Transit van in Burnley on April 22, has been found dead. A post-mortem confirmed she died from head injuries.

Body Found in Forest of Bowland

After a huge police hunt, the missing Padiham mum’s body was discovered Friday night in the Forest of Bowland. Lancashire Police announced the sad news and confirmed the identity of the victim as Katie Kenyon.

“We can now sadly confirm that the body found in the Forest of Bowland is that of Katie Kenyon,” police said. “Our thoughts remain with Katie’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Man Charged with Murder

Andrew Burfield, 50, from Todmorden Road, Burnley, has been charged with Katie’s murder. He appeared at Preston Crown Court on Friday and is set to stand trial on November 14.

Massive Search Effort

The investigation involved over 60 specialist officers from four forces. Fire crews, dog units, mounted police, mountain rescue volunteers, and drones combed dense woodlands in both Forest of Bowland and Gisburn Forest in Ribble Valley.
