Ex-Cop Nathaniel Lee Fined for Brutal Assault on Partner
Former Detective Sergeant Nathaniel Lee, once stationed at East Area Command Unit, has been found guilty of assault by beating at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 27 July.
£969 Fine and Costs for Off-Duty Assault
Lee was slapped with a £969 fine, handed £620 in costs, and ordered to pay a £97 victim surcharge. The offence took place on 5 October 2020 when Lee was off duty.
He violently pulled his partner’s hair and hoodie, sending her crashing to the ground.
Investigation Uncovers Shocking Abuse
The conviction followed a probe by Essex Police and the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards, which also dealt with Lee’s misconduct case.
A special hearing on 7 April found Lee, who has now resigned, guilty of breaching police standards for discreditable conduct.
Met Commander Condemns Domestic Abuse
East Area local commander Stuart Bell said: “Former DS Nathaniel Lee has been convicted of a serious offence. There is no place in the Met for anyone who commits domestic abuse and we will continue to hold those who carry out such offences to account.”
