Huddersfield Man Jailed for Child Abuse and Extreme Porn
Stephen Pickering, 41, from Moldgreen, Huddersfield, has been locked up for two years and four months at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday, July 27. He pleaded guilty to multiple shocking offences including making indecent photographs of a child and owning extreme pornographic images involving animals.
Also Caught for Theft and Hacking
But Pickering’s crimes didn’t stop there. He was also convicted of theft and unauthorised computer access after a thorough investigation by the Kirklees Online Investigation Team.
Police Crack Down on Online Sexual Crimes
- Pickering was first arrested in June 2020.
- Confiscated electronic devices revealed indecent images of children plus extreme pornography.
- He appeared at Leeds magistrates in May this year before sentencing.
On sentencing, Pickering received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to restrict his future actions.
“We welcome Pickering’s sentencing for a variety of offences, including possession of three extreme pornography images,” said DC James Hackman of the online investigation team.
“He richly deserves the custodial sentence imposed by the court and the SHPO.”
West Yorkshire Police emphasised their commitment to hunting down offenders involved in sexual crimes and indecent imagery online. They warned: “Those who commit such offences can expect to be investigated and prosecuted.”
