Couple Jailed for Cannabis Supply in Ipswich
Joanna Kozera, 35, and Nicholas Adams, 45, both from Barham, have been sentenced to 30 months behind bars at Ipswich Crown Court on 29 June. The duo pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis and possession with intent to supply.
Hidden Drugs Found in Repossessed Container
The pair had been sub-letting a container on Wright Road, Ipswich. After rent payments stopped, the container owner forced it open on 30 September 2018. Police discovered a secret wall inside, hiding cocaine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, and paperwork linking Kozera to the drug operation.
Kozera was arrested the next day while visiting the site, with several phones seized. A search of her home uncovered more cocaine, cannabis, and incriminating documents. Adams was also arrested following investigations.
Police Find Cannabis in Cars and Conduct Extensive Enquiries
Police searched Adams’ car in Henley on 2 October 2018, finding cannabis and additional paperwork tied to the drug ring. Another vehicle was seized on 18 October, with a mobile phone recovered for analysis. Investigators traced Adams as the container renter from 2015 to 2018.
The couple were charged in September 2019 and appeared in Ipswich Magistrates’ Court later that year.
Serious Crime Detective Hails Conviction
Detective Sergeant Vincent Grimsey said: “This long and complex investigation finally ended the couple’s criminal cannabis operation, which had made them substantial illegal profits. The damage illegal drugs do to communities is immense, and Suffolk Police is committed to holding offenders accountable.
“I hope these sentences encourage Adams and Kozera to leave behind their destructive and criminal activities.”
