County Lines Dealer Busted with Heroin and Crack in Rochdale
Ghafoor Caught Red-Handed on Market Street
Daniaal Ghafoor, 29, was arrested after police found a stash of class A drugs at his Market Street property in Rochdale. The drug dealer was caught carrying 16 wraps of heroin and 32 wraps of crack cocaine following a warrant executed on Snowdon Street.
County Lines Operation Snags Key Dealer
The Greater Manchester Police’s County Lines Team launched a covert probe called Operation Jig to crack down on local drug supply. Ghafoor used a mobile phone to peddle crack cocaine and heroin, targeting vulnerable addicts across the area.
Silent in Custody, But Pleads Guilty in Court
After his arrest on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply, Ghafoor refused to answer police questions. However, he later pled guilty at Minshull Street Crown Court and was sentenced on February 3, 2023.
Police Vow to Crack Down on Drug Networks
“The investigation focused on identifying the user of the graft phone,” said Detective Chief Inspector Claire McGuire. “Ghafoor was advertising class A drugs to vulnerable users on behalf of the County Lines network, often exploiting young children.”
