Gruesome Attack: Elderly Woman Killed by Dogs in Her Own Garden
Tragic Death in Rowley Regis
Lucille Downer, 85, was fatally mauled by dogs in her back garden on Boundary Avenue, Rowley Regis, last Friday, 2 April 2021. Despite desperate efforts by a family member and neighbours, she was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the savage attack.
Man Charged Over Dogs and Drugs
Darren Pritchard, 44, of Merrivale Road, Smethwick, is set to appear before Dudley Magistrates’ Court on 21 March. Police have charged him not only in connection with the deadly dog attack but also with possession with intent to supply and production of cannabis.
Dogs Destroyed Following Investigation
Ownership of the two dogs involved was handed over to the police immediately after the incident. Following expert advice, authorities confirmed the dogs could never be rehomed due to their violent behaviour and were humanely destroyed.
